Lenses are unique to every lens wearer. Materials: Plastic: basic prescription lens material Polycarbonate: used for kids and safety frames Trivex/ Hi Index: used for drill mount and semi-rimless frames to prevent chipping, also used with patients that have high prescriptions to thin out the lens. Len Options: Anti- Reflective Coating: Coating on lens to help with glare problems with overhead lights and lights when night time driving. Also used cosmetically so the lenses appear thinner or less distortion with high prescriptions UV Coating: Coating put on the lens to protect the eyes from UVA & UVB rays from the sun. Tint: This is a coating of color put on the lenses for cosmetics. It can be any color. Pink, Orange, Gray, etc. Most common colors are rose, gray, and brown. Transition/ Sunsensor Lenses: Lenses that are chemically activated by light. Therefore, lenses will be clear inside and will darken when outside. However, they don't get as dark as sunglasses when inside of a vehicle becuase the windshield already has a coating on it. Notice of Privacy Practices |
